VANCOUVER - Federal Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day on Tuesday confirmed that the security budget for the 2010 Olympics will be more than the $125 million US written into the Olympic bid.

Day, following his luncheon speech to the Pacific North West Economic Region conference, said federal and provincial government are still working on the numbers.

"It's going to be more than $125 million, clearly," Day said. "The exact numbers will be out pretty soon. We're just going over the fine details."

Day, in his speech, promised that the federal government will put "great resources and planning" into border crossings to prevent long delays.
